What happens when your life becomes a song

“Paul made up an entire song about my engagement, the passing of my mother, and my cheating ex-husband — and it was the funniest thing I've seen. Will definitely be back!”
Brenda · Los Angeles
“I was on a first date and next thing I know Paul is singing a love song about us. We laughed so hard and it gave us something to break the ice the rest of the evening.”
Jason · New York City

A Former Nun, Her Toughest Student, and a Song Made Up on the Spot

One audience member, one wildly unexpected interview, and a song made up on the spot about all of it. This is the whole thing, start to finish, exactly as it happened live.

What happens at the show

Everybody's having one. Might as well laugh about it.

The Midlife Crisis Comedy Show is a different show every night. Paul hosts, special guest comedians join him, and the audience supplies the material: the career change, the divorce, the sports car, the sourdough starter. Then it all gets turned into comedy, and sometimes into a song.

01Stand-up

Sets from Paul and the night's guest comics.

02Crowd work

Your crisis, workshopped live.

03Improvised songs

Original songs about you, made up at the piano.

04Never the same

No two shows alike. That's a promise and a threat.

Paul Green

Paul is a comedian, actor and musical improviser who has played close to 5,000 live shows. He trained at iO West and Second City, has Off-Broadway credits, and is known for one thing above all: sitting at a piano and making up original songs about audience members in real time.

He started the Midlife Crisis Comedy Show because everyone eventually hits the moment where they wonder what they're doing with their life. Paul's answer is to do it in front of a crowd.
